Thinking about starting a Gen X "Shit Old Days" group. For reasons unknown, been having flashbacks to 80s comprehensive school, and honestly I think most people have memory-holed just how racist, homophobic, misogynist and violent everything was. Also: DOGSHIT EVERWHERE (cc @tudoracid.bsky.social)

*rubs temples* why am i reading about MPs scrutinising Eurovision track record instead of them taking action against far-right and fascist groups that are harrassing the RNLI, the public, & shutting down infrastructure www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
UK's 'dismal' Eurovision song choices to be examined by MPs
It comes after the UK's entry Look Mum No Computer came last in May's final, scoring just one point.

It is worth saying that the nonsense over this crappy little racist village voting for "independence" does underline that Reform's policies are just completely unworkable. You cannot actually appease these people by promising to build internment camps, because they won't want them near them

Golf fans serenaded Donald Trump with renditions of popular songs and chanted 'USA' as the US president made a brief appearance in the hotel residents' bar at Doonbeg Saturday night.

If a robot called Jeeves doesn’t intone ‘I could not advise it, sir’ to most requests and then accidentally on purpose dispose of a rather fetching white blazer you had worn to great acclaim in Cannes, it is not worthy of the name.
Here’s Jeeves, hotel robot. He brought me a toothbrush, but this involved coming to my room, proffering snacks, loitering in the corridor, then going back down to reception, asking for permission to dispense the toothbrush and coming back. Basically like a keen teenage work experience robot.

‘Generous’, it should be noted here, is a whole 0.2pts higher than average pay growth. Be interested to know if McVey would prefer the Avanti services to Wilmslow in her constituency to be disrupted by strike action rather than reach a settlement at this pretty cheap rate.
