I first wrote about dicamba back in 2017 when most of the coverage was limited to farming publications. And there's something that I think is missed in the Guardian piece that I think it's important to note about why Bayer is doing this.

As long as one is physically/mentally able it's never too late for anything. Also, the oldest winner of the Astounding Award, the award given in sf/f for "best new writer," was 51 years old. It's never too late to start.
I am a software engineer by trade. I have been an avid reader of fantasy/sci-fi my entire life. I have started feeling this urge to write a novel, not to make money, but to experience it and tell a story. It's just at age 46, it feels too late to learn to do this. Is it?
