There is something so unbelievably bleak about an article that calmly walks readers through how to navigate being laid off after 50, losing your health insurance, and somehow surviving the years until Medicare. What a broken country.

FWIW Trump can't rename geographical features. Only the U.S. Board on Geographic Names can do that; Trump can't go over their head.

What the executive order does is require all federal government agencies and employees to use an inaccurate place names. That, unfortunately, is a power he does have.
Where does this madness with the renaming on Google end? Can Trump call the Atlantic Ocean the “Trump Ocean” and they’ll fall in line? Can he name Minnesota “Big Fat Loserville” and it goes on the map the next day?

It is more deadly in the US to be an elementary school student than an ICE officer.
New: ICE plans to spend millions of dollars on Boston Dynamics dog robots. ICE says this is to improve "officer safety." The robots can open doors, pick up objects, have 360 cameras, infrared vision, etc. Boston Dynamics didn't respond to question on its stance on ICE www.404media.co/ice-plans-to...

Good points from @americathepossible.bsky.social
in this essay. I do think the people elected are a massive problem but I think the two-party system and money in politics (which isn’t discussed) perpetuates the probability of electing bad people. We absolutely have to fix that asap.
We have to stop blaming the “System” for everything that’s gone wrong in America.
