A new (and depressingly relevant) episode of TURNING MODERN is now available. Hundreds of migrant children are stripped from their families and sent to a distant tropical island. Why? Bigotry and greed. turningmodern.com/2026/09/18/t...
The Abducted Children Sent to an Island
Hundreds of children were taken from their families and sent to a distant, previously uninhabited island. The reasons why this happened are a toxic mixture of deeply rooted intolerance and simple g…

I see the "AI" backlash as compelling evidence of the opposite. From the start there was a coordinated marketing and media effort to force people to see "AI" as inevitable and its "disruptions" as something to be accepted for the long-term good. But people didn't buy it.
"People believe what they are told," especially when they hear the same message echoed from every source, remains undefeated as a basis for understanding public opinion
Supermajorities on both the left and the right now think AI is advancing too quickly and could "destroy humanity" someday.

Twitch streamer Hasan Piker today said that 30,000,000 is a larger number than 250,000 and I can only presume that due to the way education in the US has been dismantled and a healthy dose of US-specialty racism, that's causing controversy.

I've been reading Anthony Kaldellis' HISTORY OF NEW ROME, a history of the Byzantine Empire, and I got to the post-Fourth Crusade period, where he makes a compelling case for strong parallels between the "Latin" conquest of the Byzantine Empire and later colonialism.

Just hearing about the Daily Wire's action propaganda makes me want to make a TROMA'S WAR-esque action movie where a college's LGBTQ Alliance save the school from being taken over by Neo-Nazis who are invited on campus by and promptly betray a right-wing influencer named Dan Shapiro.

BREAKING: Human rights and anti-war organizations are launching a campaign to demand the top Biden officials who promoted or lied about the Gaza genocide be boxed out from future Democratic administrations and other liberal spaces.

Rashida Tlaib & Chris Rabb signed on.
More expected to join.
EXCLUSIVE: Biden’s Genocide Accomplices Targeted by New Accountability Campaign
#DroptheGenocide20 demands Biden admin aides who enabled the Gaza genocide not be given roles in liberal spaces – like the role it turns out JD Vance pursued in 2016, when he ‘hated’ Trump.

As I warned you: the superstar media darling AI quitter is explicitly agreeing with Trump and claiming climate threats are "overplayed".

Effective altruism / rationalism is a cult of broken priorities that denies the threat of fossil fuels. This is why Anthropic loves burning gas for power.

It was confirmed yesterday that the centre left coalition won the election in Sweden

As predicted, with the far right performing poorly, coverage has almost entirely vanished from international media
You may be relieved but spare a thought for so many editors in the mainstream media who were hoping to run hyping headlines about the far right winning in Sweden

As always when SD is hyped and ends up crashing, I expect Swedish politics will drop off the radar as it's no longer sexy enough
Sweden, Novus exit poll:

Seat projection national parliament

S-S&D: 101 (-6)
SD-ECR: 66 (-7)
M-EPP: 62 (-6)
C-RE: 32 (+8)
MP-G/EFA: 25 (+7)
V-LEFT: 24
KD-EPP: 21 (+2)
L-RE: 18 (+2)
