"How will government help businesses survive through major construction projects?"

THIS is the fundamental question - one I've been working on since I first campaigned for the House. 1/

Roper: Lyndale Avenue bike lane fight misses the real problem
The overhaul of a key south Minneapolis artery will make it more pleasant to visit. But we can’t afford to have construction kill small businesses.

Shout out to @ktbriggs.bsky.social for being the BEST legislative assistant! He raised the bar for the role, esp as we got to nerd out on transit. I thanked him for his work w/ a cake featuring @metrotransitmn.bsky.social metro lines. I wish him the best @ his next stop as a MNDOT transpo planner!

What a great day to celebrate infrastructure improvement funds for Berger Fountain! Honored to have helped shepherd the $1.8 million in investments for our community. #mnleg

HCMC will continue to serve patients because of @aishagomez.bsky.social & Rep. Agbaje in the House. These representatives are the heroes of the MN legislature in brokering a solution for this critical Minnesota hospital. It also would not have happened but for the advocacy of @hennepind2.com. ♥️🙏♥️

It’s happening!

We’re passing a bonding bill for the first time in several years. Funding is included for the following in 61a:

- Berger Fountain
- Bridge for Youth - homeless youth shelter
- St David’s Center- early childhood education, mental health, pediatric therapy

There is a rumor that the MN legislative deal involves significant cuts to LGA (local government aid).

That is untrue.

This line item is essentially the tax bill involving federal conformity and temporary corporate tax credit trades we had to make with the GOP to get the deal done.

Minnesotans deserve transparency.

A vote on Sen Mohamed’s gun violence prevention package would let the people know where their reps stand on reducing gun violence in our state.
🚨APPALLING: Minnesota Republicans are literally hiding legislation in a desk drawer to prevent it from coming up for a vote.

One of Speaker Lisa Demuth's deputies just admitted that he was "instructed not to report" a bill banning assault weapons/high-capacity magazines the Senate already passed.

Mark your calendars for May's "Coffee with Katie" event.

This'll be a great opportunity to recap the 2026 Legislative Session, hear from neighbors, and begin the work of crafting solutions to bring back to the Minnesota House.

I hope to see you there!

HCMC is a critical lhospital not only for Minneapolis and Hennepin County but it’s the last safety net hospital in the upper Midwest. We cannot let it close. @d4commish #minneapolis #savehcmc #health #minnesota

An emotionally challenging & also proud moment:

The MN House unanimously voted to rename MN's community solar garden (CSG) program after Speaker Emerita Hortman.

She authored the 2013 CSG bill, which caused solar to grow from 1 MW to over 3 GW today.

Just one example of the good she did for MN.💔

In Minnesota, we're creating infrastructure to make people feel safe. Everyone should feel included- even baby Hans. 🥰

We all deserve the freedom to feel and be safe in our communities.

This isn't about politics - it's about people.

I hope my colleagues on the other side of the aisle will find the courage to do the right thing.

Listen to Harper Moyski's mom, Jackie.
“There is a sound that comes out of a parent when their child dies. It’s not a cry or a scream, it’s something older than language.”

Take a moment to listen to this testimony from Jackie, the mother of 10-year-old Harper who was shot and killed in the Annunciation school shooting last August.

Did you know over 40% (!) of Minnesota’s two-year college students reported experiencing food insecurity? Grateful for the work our constituents with LEAD Minnesota are doing to address hunger on college campuses.

In Minnesota, we take care of each other.

The love our neighbors have shown for each other during the unconstitutional action of the federal government is a model for the country to follow.

Our bills to hold ICE accountable are rooted in that love and care.
