I know I'm supposed to show solidarity with workers of all stripes, but there's a part of me that derives great enjoyment from watching the same tech bros who spent years telling me they were months away from automating science jobs out of existence hoisted by their own petard.

Always feel a little silly carrying around a flashlight until the power goes out at work. Lots of windowless lab space that get real dark when that happens.

I’m already over today. Arrange a simple exploratory collab with another lab only to have it scope crept into “well, when we publish this we’ll need more replicates, cell pellets, slides, etc”.
Don’t even know if anything is real yet but we’d better annoy the crap out of everyone just in case.
