Some of you may know that my grandfather was fired from his job as a school teacher in Philadelphia because he was a communist and wouldn't name names. So he sued the school district, it went to the Supreme Court, he lost ultimately. I just found some of his typewritten briefs.

Because the "White House Ballroom" was not competitively bid and was paid for through an opaque "private" financing structure, it was not subject to the Davis-Bacon Act. The workers are all non-union and my understanding is that most of them are making ~$20-$25 / hour.
