This is seismic news for fisheries scientists. Northern cod is *the* iconic symbol of total fisheries collapse due to overfishing (and other factors) *and* the iconic symbol of a complete failure to recover for decades afterwards. This is like announcing the complete recovery of bison on land.

Reminder that “all of Seattle” and “regular Seattlites” are not just the 60,000, mostly renters in Capitol Hill and the U district that moved here 5-10 years ago.
The city has 800,000 residents, mostly home owners for decades, across an area 17 miles long and 9 miles wide. It’s a big, diverse city!

The city has 800,000 residents, mostly home owners for decades, across an area 17 miles long and 9 miles wide. It’s a big, diverse city!
