This is APPALLING. The Trump administration is detaining multiple random Somali immigrants with no criminal record at Guantanamo Bay, seemingly because the White House ordered ICE specifically to detain Somalis at Gitmo as part of its effort to punish an ethnic group Trump has attacked.

I’ll also note that if this sale goes through, the delivery of some of these weapons could take years.

The next administration (SecState specifically) could cancel delivery.

Pleased to speak with John Hudson about the Trump administration's planned sale of 2000-pound bombs to Israel.

"Given the way Israel conducted its air war in Gaza and, to some extent, in southern Lebanon, there are real concerns about how such weapons would be used in densely populated areas."
Breaking news: The Trump administration is preparing a $2.8 billion sale of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, the largest single sale of the controversial munitions in recent years, a U.S. official told The Post.

The pending transfer of the 2,000-pound munition, involved in scores of incidents resulting in civilian casualties, sets up a potential litmus test for Democrats.

don’t forget this isn’t just a handout to israel, this is an ongoing subsidy program for the u.s. arms industry that acts as a kickback for political donations and pork for congressional districts where weapons manufacturers prop up the local economy
“The $2.8 billion package, which would be purchased with U.S. taxpayer dollars, includes 40,000 bombs that weigh 2,000 pounds each, including 20,000 MK-84s and 20,000 BLU-117s, said the official, who like others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss military matters.”

I don’t believe the U.S. taxpayer should continue to arm Netanyahu’s government with deadly military equipment.

I believe Netanyahu is a war criminal and that his government has committed genocide in Gaza.

This doesn't make me antisemitic. (I’m Jewish, by the way.)

The Board of Directors keeps on treating the Kennedy Center like a non-profit corporation, but it is not: it is an administrative trust created by Congress. This is so weird.

Now that I am tinkering with this claim: I am not sure as an administrative trust the Kennedy Center can declare bankruptcy.
This is not how nonprofit bankruptcy works.
WaPo reports Kennedy Center may close by Tuesday and faces bankruptcy if Trump's name is not added to the center.

"Trump is unlikely to provide “fundamental oversight” of that project or lead a financial rescue without “appropriate recognition” of his role."

You don't just get to tell a judge you don't feel like raising money anymore and expect them to approve a shutdown. The Kennedy Center has money. It has resources. It has one of the most enviable donor lists in the world. All it lacks is competent leaders.
