Surely this is, at the very least, criminal damage?
Yesterday Danny Thomas approached an RNLI crew in the Channel and repeatedly stabbed through a dinghy while one search and rescue worker was onboard.

This goes beyond harassment to a dangerous new low. Very frightening moment.

The results are in 🦋📢

A huge thank you to the 101,565 of you who took part in this year's #BigButterflyCount!

While many widespread butterfly species had a good summer, drought and record heat could impact next year’s populations.

If universities start using ai to grade essays then they're hastening their own demise because why would you need to go to university if you're not getting feedback from humans in an interaction with them. Same for all levels of education. Remove the relational aspects and you remove the point.
"Researchers have used top Generative #AI models to grade hundreds of undergraduate essays and found that AI only matched human-awarded degree classification around half the time, with AI often failing to assess the best and worst submissions accurately": www.cam.ac.uk/stories/ai-u... #ethics #tech
AI not yet good enough to mark university essays, rewarding ‘style over substance’
Top AI systems show bias towards rewarding overly complex prose styles and only match human examiners for grade bands around half the time, research finds.

Teaching EYFS / KS1 I always have a song + actions for most transitions of day, lining up song, stopping play, washing hands, going home song. Signals what’s happening next & accessible to those with verbal processing delays, EAL & supports PDA (particularly when the child leads the song/ actions)

Bluesky teacher hivemind, I'm looking for examples of concepts in any subject that learners find tricky to grasp, and the creative, amusing, concrete or multisensory ways you've come up with to teach them. It's for a book I'm writing atm. Thanks in advance! Please repost. #EduSky

Short thread on PISA because I'm seeing people make sweeping claims about entire systems based on a single data point around one aspect of an education. It's not a foregone conclusion that academic outcomes have to matter above everything else btw.
So I've seen quite a bit on the latest PISA results and about how it's a 'natural experiment' on policy due to education being devolved. That got me thinking about the *side effects* of a 'natural experiment' and the impact on inclusion. If you're claiming 'success' you need to look in the round.

Is this really who they think we are? Is it really what they think schools are for? I particularly like the bit where schools will be required to "recite" hymns daily. Later in the article it says there will be "no exceptions."

I'm intrigued by this because someone made it up and then presumably claimed that people think these things in order to make a point about things that no one believes in such an absolutist way. Excuse me but how is that evidence based? 🤷‍♀️
