This is such an amazing and I think overlooked tip. I try to do this in ways in my story without overwhelming the reader with word building by making these little threads.

Yeah, you don't gotta work out the nitty gritty of meteorology or agriculture before you start writing. You just need a few things that have connections, or you start with a few things and connect them.

World building imo is creating a foundational system (shallow or deep) for a narrative that has some internal consistency. This is primarily achieved by thinking of it as a series of connections & relationships between nodes in which nodes may be objects, places, characters, cultural touchstones etc

I have lettering down for the next 43 pages of Chapter 6. I have a feeling chapter 6 might be split, and Aurathis might be a 4 chapter thing 🫠 we will see. I REALLY want the next chapter to end on The Big Thing™ - so I might put everyone through another 70-80 pg chapter to make that happen.
