I don’t see how a school bus system could possibly be good if there is no way to predict which kids go to what schools, and then auction off the bussing itself to a private vendor

If the thread was in fact wildly misleading then Aella shouldn’t know anything about “AI safety” at the big corporations and wouldn’t be able to refute much of any of it??
So much in this is factually incorrect. Basically every time they say "probably" it's an incorrect assumption with no evidence.
I'm back, I missed you all.

Since this is an important subject I know too much about, here's a 🧵 explaining that

AI Safety Is Mostly A Sex Cult.

I don't think these people should make policy. (1/?)

What I really fucking love about Hot Fuzz is that it is a rare piece of artwork that unapologetically defends liberal modernity.

A representative of the impartial, uniform rule of law & depersonalized state beings justice to a lawless, backward community run by a wretched clique of local grandees.

I’m significantly more privacy-oriented than the average person but I’m not actually scared about tech or the government knowing everything about me or whatever. It just annoys me, I think what I google — which here I am using as a generic term — is between me and god

I guess my take on “phone addiction” is people will start litigating “well what is an addiction anyway???” and this is maybe an interesting philosophical or physiological debate but a total distraction from the actual concerns

I’m wearing a lot of graphic tees lately, because I am fighting for my life lately and every day that I dress entirely in clean clothes is a victory. Anyway, an unexpected consequence is people keep trying to strike up conversations based on the content of my shirt. Which I typically don’t remember

Obviously this isn’t enough evidence to convict but this video makes it clear to me she’s on the take
Can social media be addictive?

@taylorlorenz.bsky.social says no.

“You wanting to communicate and chat with your friends every day is not an addiction,” says Lorenz. “And to frame it that way is incredibly harmful and anti-science.”

I just made the connection that a
shocking number of posters, and probably voters, think Republicans are Glonzo
Republicans are real. They aren't something Democrats invented. They want to kill you.

September 16, 2026 at 3:31 AM
My other big news today is I am going to finally see the Odyssey, an outing that has been one month in the making. That’s how long it takes to arrange things in my life right now!!! I can’t help but draw a troubling connection here

The “in an election against Hitler would you vote for 99% Hitler?????” conversations that have persisted on this website for literally YEARS are so fucking baffling me

This is the weirdest block list I’m on, I’m not really that negative about Star Wars I mean I don’t talk about it a lot!

You can tell this is true because of how people talk about boycotts they’re in. Nobody is interested in how/if it’s actually impacting the companies, it’s all about feeling dirty for having slipped up once or judging people who didn’t commit to the cause and are still shopping on Amazon or whatever
vote abstentions are the root source of my “consumerism is a new religion” bit. folks believe in boycott logic like it’s a religious creed, and they invoke it as a near religious truth. And, I don’t think it a coincidence that consumer advocate Ralph Nader is a root source of the modern movement

Yes, you’re fundamentally a conservative, I already got that from “I don't care that it did some good for some people. It harmed me.”
