what timeline is this?! not dolly parton and tim curry back to back.

my high school bestie’s mum took a gaggle of us to a shadow cast performance of rhps and i was instantly hooked (and got fishnets and a DVD of rhps in my Christmas stocking from my parents next, ha).

Honestly, this hits on what is perhaps a generational shift.

I am seeing challenges in the workplace because people literally don't read the parts of docs they're not tagged in.

We expect EVERYTHING to be brought to us, instead of looking more broadly, trusting that there is value in discovery.
This is excellent:
New one about record shopping in the 90s, how intentional discovery used to be, how algorithms have taken that away from us and why we should probably start putting in the work again. (It's about games eventually, promise)

Accidentally made it free. Oops! Go:

In true Shannon fashion, I am watching yet another TV show way after it was established to be very fun. Brooklyn 99, Parks and Rec, The Office. Late to the game.

I started watching Bridgerton for Spring Break. So drama, very delight.

I think we need to celebrate the death of Sora a bit more. This is a technology that, just MONTHS AGO, we were being told was going to literally destroy Hollywood and Disney was going to give them a BILLION DOLLARS and NONE OF THAT EVEN REMOTELY HAPPENED

Gonna have to buy Boston Kreme donuts to tuck in with when my copy arrives 🍩💕
You can still order it from me directly, and I will personalize it, throw in a hidden story, some stickers, and FUCK ICE whistles. www.mulebooks.com/store/how-to...

But if you’re NOT in the US… first of all: congrats. Secondly, you can save yourself some shipping by going to a local vender.

Remember how hard tech bros marketed this as being the “inevitable future” (see: @tressiemcphd.bsky.social) that we all HAD to get onboard with and would make trillions of dollars and disrupt life as we know it?

Hmm.
Meta is shutting down its VR metaverse on June 15th.

Sources: Meta plans sweeping layoffs that could affect 20% or more of the company, amid mounting AI infrastructure costs; it had ~79,000 employees as of Dec. 31 (Reuters)

Hello. I'm doing a workshop next week that helps people deal with job interviews and talking about your work in general. We also talk about recognizing your value AND setting boundaries. It’s the best six hours you can spend in a vaguely work-related way possible! Sign up. We have fun!
Presenting Work with Confidence!
It doesn't matter how good your work is, if you can’t present it it's going in the trash. Come learn how to present with confidence.
