The lack of awareness of climate change by people whinging about the tour operator for low water levels on the Danube is unreal. A microcosm of why it’s hard for governments to make the case for action if people only think about their holidays 😡https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cq62j2lzlnm8o

Passengers have described their anger after their itineraries changed to involve hours spent on coach trips instead.

Triple kick gets cancelled just before I retire. I am not wealthy so guess I will not be retiring. I do wish the media would drop this whole ‘all old people are rich’ narrative.

So much of the right these days have a massive patriotism problem. This guy:
- is a tax exile (left long before this govt)
- hates his own country while complaining he doesn’t get big enough subsidies from it
- laments the manufacturing hit from a Brexit he supported www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

How is this news? billionaire oil person says uk needs to drill more and tax less, though, of course, he‘s actually in Monaco. And he would do more in the uk if the state subsidised him more. Dear BBC, that‘s like me saying the uk‘s problem is underpaid law profs. www.bbc.com/news/article...

When Nigel Farage said Durham would show the country how a Reform government would look. He was right.
An absolute shambles.

Nathan Gill in prison, Dan Thomas arrested, Reform in Wales really know how to pick them.

Democracy has always been as much about the donors as the voters.
"Democracy"? What's that?

The Tories sold that off to their rich cronies back in the 80s under #Thatcher

Since then it's always been about servicing the needs of the wealthy who supported the #Tories

Austerity, selling off our public assets, breaking unions, keeping workers' pay low

Reform UK's record-breaking donor was accused of running “in effect a money laundering platform”.

Prosecutors accused Delo of being the “leader of a criminal enterprise” who knew that his Bitmex platform had become a “magnet for money laundering and criminal activity”.
Reform UK Is Now a Wholly-Owned Subsidiary of the Corrupt Crypto Industry
As criminal investigations into Reform’s funding continue, much of the British press continues to give a free pass to Nigel Farage’s shady funders

Ridiculous sums of money don’t level the playing field - they distort it. It’s increasingly urgent that we get to grips with Political funding in Britain - our democracy is for sale to the highest bidder.

I wonder if the motivation of the billionaire class in supporting Reform, who would certainly destroy the uk, is to bring about a soviet style collapse in the West so they can asset strip like the Russian oligarchs? Trying to understand what they’re buying with this support.
A reminder that Delo previously pled guilty in the US to violating money laundering protections and agreed to pay a $10 million fine for "willfully” breaking the law with his BitMex platform, which was described as "in effect a money laundering platform.”

This is who owns Farage now

From a U.K. perspective I would say ditto for Reform. I imagine similar for AfD in Germany and NR in France?

Looking out at Lough Neagh feeling a mixture of sadness and anger because it is dying apparently due to a combination of climate change, invasive species (zebra mussels stripping the vegetation) and agricultural practices. We did this. Heartbreaking.

And Chris Mason is buying this? Naive or working for Reform?
"Counter terror won’t let him on stage yet," writes Chris Mason.

The British media is going to lose its mind over their favourite hate-figures returning to the U.K. isn’t it? I’m not that bothered about the royals but I am genuinely worried about them. I really dislike pile-ons.
