can someone explain to me why the UK decided to murder its universities all of a sudden
EXC: 90 programmes in Edinburgh University's College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences are to be closed.

This is bad and should be called out. I push back against accusing everyone that breathes for wanting to throw us under the bus, so it is credible when we call it out when it unambiguously occurs. This is an unambiguous occurrence.

It really is worth remembering just last year the conventional wisdom on immigration was that people supported mass deportation to such a degree people should be cautious in opposing the Trump administration snatching people and sending them to CECOT.

If Democrats were serious they would go straight for the jugular of the crypto industry as soon as they take power.
There’s public policy reasons to do this (name a non-crime use case), but also it cuts off a major artery for Republican support and corruption.

Sometimes you take a wagon on the regional train and walk fifteen minutes to a campground and get swarmed by mosquitos and woken up by crows but your 6 y/o says that the sunset and sunrise are the most beautiful things she’s ever seen. And that “thank you daddy!!” is a sound you’ll hear forever.

In the final chapter of Kershaw’s The Nazi Dictatorship he addresses Goldhagen’s Hitler’s Willing Executioners - wildly popular in Germany but a shoddy work of history. It makes me wonder if the Goldhagen thesis hasn’t truly been *harmful* to the ability to recognize & confront the fascist threat…

I bicycle to pick up my farm share from the botanic garden. I work 4 days a week and go to museums on the 5th day. I have time for my hobbies.

this is probably annoying but my little life in Berlin is extremely pleasant & very low-carbon.* my kid goes to the diverse, good-enough local public school. I bicycle to pick up my farm share from the botanic garden. I work 4 days a week and go to museums on the 5th day. I have time for my hobbies.
