the welfare budget is basically the clown car of Tory fiscal policy isn't it, you keep thinking it must be empty but nope, out pops another amazing saving to spend on something they like more

"Dear Diary,
There were six by-elections in England and Scotland this week and Reform lost all of them. Two of them were seats we previously held. The problem with running councils is that people can see how useless we are."

If you're considering dressing your child, self or home in Halloween tat this year, PLEASE consider charity shops first. Went on my lunchbreak, all of them had racks of stuff identical to what's on sale new elsewhere.

Also, you MIGHT get a £130 De'Longhi espresso machine for £15! I know I did! ☕

This is quite cool. My university is the first organisation in the world to force Microsoft to allow us to turn off copilot summaries in Word 365, after a backlash against it from staff (including, very vocally, me). That cannot have been easy for our heroic IT people so hats very much off to them!

a) We don't know that the #Fairford incident was an "attempted terrorist attack"
b) The men arrested are all UK nationals
c) Quoting Donald Trump as a reliable source on this or anything else is ridiculous
d) The only point Farage proves (yet again) is that he's an opportunist grifter

Small boat crossings peaked under Johnson in 2022 reaching 46,000 in 2022.

In current year they are 18,565 and falling.

Also prior to Boris Johnson's Brexit there were none.
