Feels like the appropriate way to raise a glass, well a mug anyway, to the departed icon of kindness and stagecraft that is Sir Patrick Stewart #StarTrekTNG #SirPatrickSteward #ClipperTea

Sadly now both the #StarTrek movie Chekovs have passed, though at least this wasn't from burrowing life forms from Ceti Alpha Six, or more pointlessly, through a faulty handbrake on a car.

yes, this is a true story!

wd j1330+6435 is a white dwarf (the leftover core of a dead star). it’s been consuming rocky planetary debris, adding elements like sodium to its atmosphere. the sodium absorbs certain wavelengths of light, giving the star this unusual green glow!

Maplin HDMI adaptor has reached the broken stage of it's life, probably the last #Maplin branded item I will ever have used. I have some audio adaptor cables purchased from them still kicking round. But do adaptor cables get to go to silicon heaven? #siliconheaven #reddwarf

Can you guess what this picture is? It's an image of vitamin C, taken with polarised light.

Vitamin C led to both the 1937 medicine and chemistry prizes: to Albert von Szent-Györgyi who first isolated it, and Norman Haworth for determining its molecular structure.

I am going to be joining in with The Concrete Gazebo at the 12 September experimental improv session, but there is plenty of good stuff happening at The Summer At The Beach event in Waterbeach (a cycle or train stop from Cambridge) over the next few weekends.

I missed the Southern part of England solar eclipse of 1999 as I went to visit the Czech Republic rather than Cornwall. Boots did mix up my photographs from that trip, so I did get someone else's eclipse experience photos, which were mostly just a campsite.

I am one of the 662 waiting for a new liver on this list. My current existence is a pale shadow of what it could be. It's so important for people to talk about this; imagine it was you, or a loved one, in need. You'd hope someone else would be that generous. Please read:

Finished OPUS: Prism Peak on the #NintendoSwitch2, a game I had wishlisted at some point in the past, but couldn't remember what it was about when I purchased it on sale. It turned out to be a wonderful way to explore the people in the protagonists life, with great world building.

Had a wonderful time at the #MCEscher exhibition at #SomersetHouse in London. An hour and a half flew by, with the ground floor items showing his early works, his mentor, and the development of his techniques being a quite fulfilling taster before yielding to the more well-known of his works.

Playing OPUS: Prism Peak, which is a lovely story where the mechanic is taking photographs and showing them at the correct time. A story that works for me as well at this time in my life makes it really powerful experience. #nintendoswitch #narrativegame
