Now, Colorado's leading medical societies have formally condemned the surgery ban for transgender youth and announced their position against them.

"Vote NO": Colorado's Top Medical Groups Formally Oppose Anti-Trans Ballot Prop. 135
There is not a single major medical group in the country that endorses blanket government restrictions on gender-affirming care like the one outlined in Prop. 135.

With Orban going down and MAGA appearing to be collapsing in on itself, things were looking up for democracy.

AfD winning in Saxony-Anhalt was a setback, but it’s just one German state.

Brazil heading for a Bolsonaro restoration really stings. Shows that this global struggle will go for a while.

the reason these people need to be stripped of almost all of their money is so that they stop thinking that it gives them the right to nominate themselves for the "benevolent dictator" position
“Democracy has been hailed as, like, the holy grail for the last couple hundred years, but democracies are inefficient,” said the crypto billionaire. “If you get a benevolent dictator, it’s actually extremely efficient."

Hmm, where have I heard this before?

At a time in history when the most influential leaders of the U.S. need to stand up loudly and clearly for the rule of law, democracy, and decency, they are leading the charge in the opposite direction — fawning over the most dangerous authoritarian America has ever witnessed.

Do not forget this.

The problem is that many Democrats take money from them, which means they will get bailed out at our expense in the next 2-4 years.

If Democrats think winning back congress this year and the presidency in 2028 is enough, they are sorely mistaken. We'll be right back where we're at in 2032 with an even more fascist and white supremacist Republican party. It's not enough to win power.
the brazil thing is so depressing because they did the right thing, man

they did what we couldn’t, they actually prosecuted their coup and threw bolsonaro’s ass in jail and generally showed the united states what a functional state looks like

and now they are gonna elect his dipshit son? really?

First results in the first round of the Brazilian Presidential election are in. Lula trailing but looks like the south is reporting faster which skews towards Bolsonaro. That said, prediction markets think this looks good for Bolsonaro (that has signal, unlike prior to vote counting).

It's Mark Zuckerberg.
