Exactly this. And in fact, many models *have* been created this way, and decades of prior machine learning systems *were* created this way, consensually. These things are choices! People are STILL working this way! It’s not just that a better world is possible — it already EXISTS. We can nurture it.
This is your occasional reminder that generative "AI" in particular could have been developed on public domain materials and/or licensed and compensated works but the major players intentionally, methodically and systemically chose to steal labor from working creative folks instead

WELL NOW, would you look at that?

A massive, 4-YEAR-LONG study of NEARLY 30 MILLION people in France found that individuals who received a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine had a 74% LOWER risk of death from severe COVID-19 compared to unvaccinated individuals and ZERO increased risk of all-cause mortality.

New today in the old tale of externalizing costs while privatizing profits:

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman tells Politico, “We believe the world should accept some bad things happening for the benefits of this technology.”

Do not resist the wind.
Be still within it.
Find your place,
then let yourself become the wind.

What is true in you remains.
What is not, is carried away.

You do not become stronger by resisting,
but by learning to move.

The utter brilliance of Chee Chee’s minimalism: ‘When I draw fish or birds or animals they have no symbolic meaning from the past. For me they are animals of the present and I draw them because I like their clean lines and beautiful shapes.” - Temagami artist Benjamin Chee Chee (1944-1977)
