I WON A BRAM STOKER AWARD
FOR COUP DE GRÂCE!!!

TRULY OVERJOYED!!! Thank you so much to the @horrorwritersassoc.bsky.social and to @titanbooks.bsky.social for championing this dark experimental book about a man who finds hope and choice in the depths of despair. I’m so honoured.

Watching Backrooms I couldn't get this quote from @sofiaajram.bsky.social's Coup de Grâce out of my head: "It is a place that has intention—an interior built for humans, wholly unoccupied by them." It still gives me chills.

Saw Backrooms last night and I loved it! Tight script, gorgeous sets, and so fun. It's a beautiful direction for the genre and I'm already itching to see it again—it was such a visual feast! I can't wait to hear what others think.

Really enjoyed Hokum! Solid scares, fun set.

That said, what a rotten theatre experience. I had to ask a lady to put her phone away because she was thrashing through 50 apps every few minutes. If you cannot stay off your phone for 1h40m, your brain is fucking cooked. Stay home.

Just finished reading Yesteryear and fuck. Sometimes funny, but often incredibly dark story. Finishing it feels like when I first read Conner Habib’s Hawk Mountain. Both very good works worth reading.

I am begging audiobook producers to add Author Acknowledgements to the end of audiobook recordings!! I just finished an audiobook that had interesting autobiographical context in the acknowledgements that I'd never known about if I hadn't gone hunting for it because it wasn't part of the recording.
