I can understand not liking the design of Jace-universe Nissa but the more I've thought about it the more I actually like the horseshoe identity of four colors melding into the missing fifth color but on steroids. Interesting color pie theory and a way to solve the four color problem.

My higher-ed reform policy is basically: 6 year undergrad, big cheap state schools, let professors fail a lot more students, throw enough money at all the other problems this creates. Failure is normal, you do not need to worry about scholarships

this is part of my stance that older/advanced material such as violent fiction is as much a part of a child's development as age-appropriate stories. and that includes the "low stakes" of sneaking behind society's back to watch your first Rated-R film
But it doesn't do anybody any good to conflate actual trauma with "things that make me feel sad." We all have that!
You weren't actually "scarred" by the horse dying in Neverending Story. You just felt big, grown-up emotions (maybe for the first time). And it happened in a safe, low-stakes setting.
