and again, "saying so many words for vanishingly little semantic meaning" SOUNDS like something a bad writer does, but like, no they don't. bad writers waste time defining words and giving unnecessary backstory, which is different
just the way it manages to say so many words for vanishingly little semantic meaning, the way it seems to lose sight of the premise and aimlessly switch between generic strategy tips and jokes about player habits

I watched Park Chan-Wook's miniseries The Sympathizer. Then I watched Fernando Meirelles and Marc Munden's The Sympathizer, which I enjoyed less. Thought it was pretty good overall, though, especially at the points it felt least like an NYT bestseller. Would recommend

the thing that’s hardest to communicate about Jack Kirby is that if he had never produced anything after 1955 he would still be one of the all-time greatest and most important US comic book artists, as if Louis Jordan had transformed into James Brown halfway through his career.
