i’m sorry but this entire worldview seems not just evil but deeply stupid? the far future is fake! it doesn’t exist! what matters are people here and now!

Again, bigots will never choose bigotry-lite over the real thing. You're not going to win them but you're going to drive away people who otherwise would have voted for you.

And this year -- when voters most of all want "a fighter" in Congress -- running ads about how you will not fight is idiotic.

The "I don't really like AI, but I use it every day" people confuse me. I know these tools are being forced down our throat, but it's still fairly easy to avoid LLMs. I literally never use them unless I am trying to figure out the weird stuff my students are turning in.

It’s irking me that people are even making tangential connections about distrust Black folks and women have with the medical system.

And I understand it’s rooted in, “the discourse pendulum is swinging toward absolute trust, which is gross,” but these people are not our peers in disillusionment.
The argument for treating the MAHA people like a legitimate group of people & not a bunch of dog whistling eugenicists would hold a lot more weight if their main man RFK wasn’t regularly out here saying shit like ‘Two beers before driving are now mandatory as part of my Take The Edge Off initiative’
