look, i don't care if a character SEEMS to be a cat or a dog person. i wouldn't care even if the whole fandom agreed on whether they prefer dogs or the other. if it's my favorite character, then in my head(canons) it's a cat loving person. because i love cats. that's it. no logic needed.
