Some countries have a few extremely common family names, and that comes with both good and bad effects. At least in Vietnam, tho, marriage between two people with the same last name is, imo, usually a Nguyen/Nguyen situation.

Exactly, by choice, especially after the brief BLM diversity push a few years ago. Country quite intentionally avoids non-white listeners and a music writer knows this.
That Rolling Stome article on “Choosin Texas” complaining about how people who haven’t heard the song are siloing themselves is hilarious to me. Popular Country music in the US is possibly the MOST siloed genre in the country, especially in the 21st century.
