Same people who seem to think it’s bad for China to beat us at AI are perfectly fine with China beating us at high speed rail, solar energy, wind energy, shall we go on
'oh so you want china to beat us' bro what the hell do i care leave me to the humble life i am trying to build for myself

BIG WIN: The House just passed the Water Resources Development Act!

The bill includes my provision to protect the stability of the historic Mississippi waterfront in Minneapolis and ensure this sacred site will be here for generations to come.

Proud to get it done! 💪🏽

Not sure if people know Wakefield was trying to sell a competing measles vaccine when he made up his fraudulent study about the MMR. It was only after that failed (because he is a complete fraud) that he started grifting off opposing all vaccines.

It’s all just a grift. Antivaxxers are their marks.
To do this during the worst measles outbreak in 35 years just after 4 Americans have died is pure psychopathy and tells you exactly where he stands on vaccines 🤬🤬🤬

Truly wild to listen to the Deputy Superintendent talk about fragmented pathways only 5 years after the CDD was implemented 😑😑

Closing schools doesn’t fix enrollment! maybe see if the proposal to increase per student $ from the permanent school fund passes in Nov

Minneapolis could close up to 16 schools
Minneapolis Public Schools officials rolled out a plan Tuesday night that could see up to 16 schools close as the district tries to address ongoing budget deficits.

Max is the authority. Contrary to the story, it only affects one city, Oak Grove. Also, this doesn’t affect your ability to early vote AT ALL. You can early vote in-person starting Friday; every county has at least 1 location. Some cities also open then; others on Oct. 16, though some won’t have any
Heads up, Minnesota. Do not read this Democracy Docket article. It utterly misstates the situation. Get your information about Minnesota from authoritative Minnesota sources.

Of course more companies than 3M make PFAS but another point in the regulate and chill out on the aggressive speed run to climate disaster
I just wanna point out that 3M was poised to phase out PFAS production before the AI industry and the data centers they are trying to force on communities got inflated and pushed by fascist billionaires.

PFAS are bioaccumulative. They build up in ecosystems, foods, and bodies. They cause cancer.

this is so fucking cool. of course we know mutual aid works, but it’s nice to have data to convince foundations etc that just paying people’s rent to keep them housed is effective
i am incredibly excited to share our research about how paying people’s rent through mutual aid made an impact on minnesota this year

we accidentally collected more data than anyone ever has for an effort like this, and can very seriously say we prevented an eviction bubble that everyone expected

I scored big on marketplace today - someone in cottage grove was selling an older model aventon pace 500 with only 108 miles on it for like 1/3 of the price new. Feels like maybe the disc brakes never got properly bedded, but still very exciting

You know what I'd like? I'd like cis Democrats to say "thank you."

"Thank you for being the moral center of our movement."

"Thank you for refusing to go quietly."

"Thank you for fighting ICE. Thank you for forming coalitions with other communities under threat."

we could build bioenergy parks instead of data centers you say?
feeling unexpectedly emotional as we visit saerbeck, a town of just 7200 in central germany that formed a climate municipality. they produce 4.5x the electricity they need, and have developed a whole array of climate solutions.

one of them? a climate action curriculum that starts in kindergarten.

Truly do not watch this. There’s no way to ethically watch it, and any views it gets are directly putting money into persecuting trans people
As a new Harry Potter trailer makes the rounds, it bears repeating that there’s no way to watch this show without supporting J.K. Rowling’s bigotry and the structural violence she’s inflicting on the trans community.
There is no ethical consumption of HBO’s Harry Potter series
You can’t without supporting Rowling’s transphobic bigotry.
