There is a common belief that great events must have great foundational causes and often they do. But I think the history of the 21st Century-and not just US history-owes more to a badly designed ballot in Florida than any other single cause.

For want of a nail indeed.

Despite the agency's human resources department saying he hadn’t even been onboarded, Jeremy Lewin oversaw the destruction of USAID. It’s not clear he had the legal authority to do so.

A reporter asked President Trump, "Do you have a further response to Obama who made fun of the Cheesecake Factory, comparing it to the White House and your decorations." Trump gave a fairly long answer.

If they did, they'd be reporting news, not cosplaying as tabloids.

Alas the evidence is a majority want a handout. That's one of the reasons they mostly chose Trump-they expected to get another big one.
The costs are obscene.
Tennessee farmer's fuel bill was $20,000 for just 2 weeks:

"I wish they could see what it costs us to plant a crop and what we are getting paid... A farmer doesn't like a handout. He would rather have a fair market."

If it was a Democrat they'd be all over it. They aren't cowardly. They are complicit. How we got here.
The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.
