I remember how the way kids fell behind during the brief push for remote learning during the first year of Covid has been used as a cudgel by a lot of the same people glomping onto AI to claim those temporary precautions went TOO FAR, even as they saved numerous lives
"AI" has existed in its current form for barely four years and the fact that it's jammed up the cognitive development of an entire generation that fast (and that there's a specific overclass of techofascists who are deeply thrilled about this) is a big damn red flag.

I’ve been teaching cooking club after school and this week I had to try making pupusas. This was a practice trial before teaching kids how to make them. I filled mine with roasted garlic and queso fresco.

I wonder how much NEA is getting. 🧐 It’s so sad to see teacher unions caring more about money from the private sector than they do about students.
As a teacher and proud union member, I’m so glad to see AFT getting dragged for this. I’d love to see NEA get dragged as well for pushing AI through articles and trainings. Generative AI has negative effects on thinking skills and does not belong in education.
