I find it curious that Mike Lee is now taking the position that the government should not be weighing in on matters of religious doctrine, despite joining an amicus brief in the Fifth Circuit that urged the court to uphold the Ten Commandments in public schools, now that he's on the receiving end.

For all the talk of how Democrats aren't close enough to the mainstream, only Republicans act—consistently, through all of their members in every branch, federal and state—as if they know there is no chance they could hold power in anything resembling a free and fair election.
The Roberts Court, the Trump White House, and the national GOP are acting like this is their one big shot. Either they secure the lasting end of US Constitutional democracy, or they’re in very serious trouble from the backlash. And they’ve already gone so far that there’s no other possibility.

If we actually want to appreciate moms, we should be providing free childcare, healthcare, and guaranteed income for stay-at-home parents to put more money in families’ pockets and ensure no SAHP is reliant on a partner for their economic security.
