Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa nobody counts Arizona State among “America’s most elite universities”
Vance: "Some of America's most elite universities bring in foreigners to undercut wages of American residents. There are 9 universities in particular we believe merit an investigation. Those are Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Brown, the University of Pittsburg, UC Davis, Cal Tech, Arizona State, and MIT."

The thing is, the only monuments that were torn down were monuments to losers.

This is utter bullshit.

What he said was crystal clear. He said that Iran could “take out” two major U.S. cities and that that would be a “small price” to pay.

If he misspoke or meant to say something else, he should apologize and clarify his comments. But I didn’t “misinterpret” shit.
Analysis: President Trump's comments about Los Angeles and San Diego led to controversy after he suggested high gas prices were a small price to prevent attacks.

The comments created opportunities for his foes and confusion for his allies.

And here I’d thought “Hegseth’s Retreat” was going to be a luxury intervention facility for recovering alcoholics…
The evacuation of American B-1 bombers from a British air base underscored Iran’s continuing ability to wield the threat of asymmetric warfare despite being militarily outmatched by the U.S. and Israel.
Pullout of B-1 bombers shows how an outgunned Iran is keeping the U.S. on edge
Tehran has also used the threat of unconventional attacks to inflict chaos on global energy markets and threaten the safety of Air Force One.

I feel like WestWorld has to be the example that defines the category here, right? The first half of the first season was absolutely incredible.

And just as quickly, I careened off the rails. I never even bothered to finish Season 2.
What TV show got so bad it effectively destroyed your appreciation for the show when it was was good?

I’m know I’m just a crazed lib, but the president calling on Iran to “take out” major U.S. cities seems worse than the “deplorables” thing or whatever
Trump: "With the war, it's just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay ... let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

Not right now, Plague.
The U.S. government is actively monitoring a suspected outbreak of the plague in Russia following the death of a 28-year-old lab worker who was reportedly infected after coming into contact with a broken test tube containing the pathogen.
U.S. Monitoring Reports of Russian Lab Worker’s Suspected Plague Death
The State Department called on Russian authorities to release “accurate information quickly and openly” about the developing situation.

Cameroon has the opportunity to do the funniest thing
A senior State Department official who helped negotiate the Trump administration’s controversial “third country” deportation deals with African nations has been nominated to be U.S. ambassador to Cameroon.

Basically every “question” by every Senate Republican, in absolutely every hearing, is just angry shouting about some bizarre meme or niche conspiracy.

They’re the majority in both houses of Congress!!

It’s incredibly unserious!

And the national press is just totally inured to it.

{gestures wildly}

That’s what the regular budget is for! Your spending plan!
Senate Republicans are preparing to depart Washington at the end of the week without approving President Trump’s request for $350 billion in defense funds, leaving the Pentagon to confront how much of its spending plan can fit into the regular budget.

“We have to just make the case to every single Republican and as many Democrats as will listen,” said Sen. Kevin Cramer.

People are also upset about non-economic things that get expressed in economic terms, like the fact that everything seems wildly out of control and we have a maniac in charge of the country
Maybe the reason the economic vibes are so off isn't that things are *worse* than the great recession but because back then we all thought the pain was temporary, whereas the things that are wrong with the economy today have all been getting worse for a long time and show no signs of improving

By all means, keep handing the most substantive and straightforward prosecutor in America a microphone…

Among other things, this doesn’t make any fucking sense
Trump: "Because of tariffs, we are taking in hundreds of billions of dollars of profits. It's one of the reasons I can offer, if Republicans win the House and Senate, $5,000 to every adult. We can do it and the Democrats can't, because the Democrats don't have any income."
