I'm a professional book reviewer who gets a ton of PR emails from publicists. Do you know where I first hear about 80% of the books I end up reviewing? From authors and readers on bsky.
I am not first and will be far from the last to say this:
I have purchased so many books because I saw them recommended or publicized here on bsky. I cannot urge you all enough to KEEP TALKING ABOUT BOOKS.
I know it's easier to talk up someone else's book, but this also means you, the shy author.

Wikipedia is not at all like generative AI slop, and it is *most specifically* unlike slop in the very features that make it useful and reliable — that it is authored by people who take responsibility for what they do and who both credit and point readers towards the sources they have in fact used.
I remember them being considered more or less unreliable sources. That’s not the equivalent of slop.
