Creative development. The Bridge Between Your Story and the Screen.

I put finished scripts in front of people who can move on them. Most scripts that get passed on were never read, they went to companies that couldn't receive them.

Thirty-eight companies were in range for one animated pilot. Four could actually read it.

The rest were representation-only, legally barred from unsolicited material, or had slates full two years out.

The script was never the problem. The list was.

The note I give most often:

Your first ten pages are establishing the world. Your reader is deciding whether to keep going.

Two different jobs. The second one wins.

To weed out AI-generated pitches, this company resorted to pitches by phone only.

"Using AI to produce a script will get you nowhere. We’re going to talk. After all, ringing up a stranger and improvising as the conversation unfolds is a core reporting skill."

Budget is a genre.

A producer reading your logline is already estimating a number, and that number decides which pile it lands in before they reach page one.

Most writers have never priced their own script.

Adult animation and family animation are not the same market.

Same medium. Different buyers, different budget tiers, different appetite for risk.

A $30M family feature and an eight-episode adult series go to almost entirely separate lists.
