This is a Rationalists thing isn't it? I fully expect the weird sex cultist to be very opposed to the word "artificial" when it comes to AI.
Trump: "Now we're calling it super. We're using the word super. Because the other word is a fake word. It's just not a good -- it's not an appropriate word. Whoever wins SI is going to win."

Please know that this is one of my few legitimate areas of actual, high-level professional expertise: Kicking the healthiest people off of a health insurance program will bankrupt it.

Not 'could;' not 'might,' not 'probably," but absolutely will, with mathematical certainty.
Dr Oz says the Trump administration will kick more than a million people off health insurance because some of them have "never filed a claim"

Douchebags yelling about sports was the bread and butter of sports talk radio for decades. Somewhere along the way, ESPN got Bari Weiss'd and convinced that was the sweet, sweet audience they needed to cultivate.
ESPN used to be a place to go for sports highlights, player insights and funny anchors.

And now it's a douchebag roid case in a tank top screaming about the betting lines.

BREAKING: The Missouri Supreme Court has placed the redistricting referendum on the ballot.

It has also barred the use of the 2025 map in the general election. The 2022 map that almost guarantees Emanuel Cleaver's victory will be in effect.

One thing I wish people would realize is just how central JK Rowling is to the entire anti-trans ecosystem. Looking at a network node analysis of the top 200 anti-trans X accounts, she is the most central figure spanning both sides of the Atlantic from Republicans to Labour.

I’ve come to regard LLMs in what is I think a healthy way: like a somewhat-well-trained pack animal that I’m grudgingly willing to work with on code projects, but with the constant understanding that I am the superior species here and I can eat it if it keeps disappointing me

My god. The Heritage Foundation, which mercilessly attacked transgender kids in order to protect the "integrity of women's sports," is now attacking the legal basis for women's sports. The transgender student decision is barely 2 weeks old.

Barack Obama had no right to nominate a new Supreme Court justice after Antonin Scalia died. And if a senator from Kentucky has died recently, Andy Beshear has no right to choose a new senator.

...and this right here is precisely what trans folks have been saying: these sports bans *have never been about sports* – they're a backdoor way to stripping trans rights more generally...

See, people always want to make this just about "sports," but the real upshot here is that, 6-3, trans women can't make a claim under the Equal Protection Clause. And if they can't do that, it's hard to see how they have constitutional rights.

I suppose that's one way to improve ratings... Add commentators that will cause people to hate watch. Wiggins, Armstrong, and Bruyneel? Fuck those guys.
NBC has clearly figured out how to build a Time Machine back to 2002. The network recently confirmed that the TDF broadcast team will include Lance, Bruyneel, Wiggins, Bob Roll, Phil Liggett.

I am on record that protected corners, when designed so that they put a 6" curb directly in the path of travel of a bicyclist, are a hazard.

Yes, this does have the effect of limiting the likelihood of right-hook crashes, but also almost certainly causes solo crashes that will never be reported.
