Really good piece. As a parent and someone in the middle of redistricting conversations/reader of NHJ, I am curious why academic tracking was not here- I don’t know what quadrant it would be in, but it is top of parents’ minds.

Listened to the This American Life with Nikole Hannah-Jones and have some of the same takeaways.
(1) All this is taking place in a school district that is majority Hispanic and that is not mentioned in article or episode.
(2) NHJ cannot distinguish between educational neglect & customer service.

Our current planning team says new magnets are unreasonable. The NHJ piece indicates we should revisit this.
