A few notes here:
- region spans 10-20°N, the main development region in the eastern North Pacific, *not* the ENSO monitoring region
- it's very warm in the ENP MDR, but that warmth tends to be shallow as captured by Argo float profiles
- SST gradient NW of the ENP MDR is still present (but shifted)
