Debating truth is pulling us apart. Seeking the truth can bring us together. My name is Rob and I believe understanding and supporting science, exploration and research is more important than ever. I’m ready to shine a spotlight on those seeking answers.
My family and I know the impact of dementia well. We can’t let politics and games get in the way of progress and breakthroughs. It was very troubling to hear about this in our conversation with @fromthelabbench.bsky.social.

Sometimes I start to worry that rallying people around science and expertise is going to be too hard.
NEW: October 17 marks a global event called “Origin,” focused on Earth regeneration.

Rather than a movement to directly influence climate policy or polluting companies, Origin promises change through synchronized prayer and body movement.

The glass octopus (Vitreledonella richardi) has a body that is almost completely transparent. They live water column instead of on the sea floor, so this helps them avoid being seen by predators.

The only parts of its body that are opaque are its eyes, digestive tract and chromatophores

This is a depressing situation. It would seem that we could find funding solutions, but time is not our friend.

Some very good analysis and it points to why it’s critical to have some degree of “social media literacy,” so to speak … to understand what sort of manipulation actually happens here. Spend more time with learning offline and reading.

Awful …
I’ve been reporting on the CDC for years, and have written about many of its troubles over the past year. I was still shocked by the extent of the staff losses and political interference I found when reporting this one.
