Friday morning, I was gardening when I checked my phone. A request had gone out for help.

For 25+ hours, ICE had been laying siege to a quiet neighborhood in Frederick, MD. Community members were afraid, some didn’t want to leave their homes.

ICE vehicles seemed to be lurking on every corner.

Which is when ICE decided to drive onto the sidewalk and come straight towards the crowd, forcing them to move out of the way or get run over.

One woman did have her foot run over. Thankfully she was wearing steel-toed boots or some sort of protective footwear. (Frederick, MD - September 4, 2026)

Fox News complains that underage teenage girls aren’t getting pregnant enough:

“The problem is teens and young adults. From ages 15-19, the fertility rate is down 70% in the last 2 decades, which means we are telling people who are young not to have babies.”

CDC is no longer surveilling outbreaks caused by campylobacter, cyclospora, listeria, shigella, vibrio and Yersinia. What could go wrong?
The CDC quietly scaled back a surveillance program for foodborne illnesses.
As of July 1, a critical surveillance program is monitoring for only two pathogens instead of the usual eight.

Q: You have a chapter titled "More Money, More Problems." Why does more money sometimes cause more problems?

Vance: I'm a millennial, and so I believe that's the wisdom of the great Christian theologian P. Diddy. That will be in an attack ad at some point in the future. But what- what I... okay.

I'm still a little catatonic from Musk deciding to go pogroming right when it could theoretically have blown up the biggest payday of his life. But he made the bet that Wall Street couldn't give a shit. And he was right.
Elon Musk's incitement of pogroms in Belfast reveals he'll use his immense wealth and influence to foment untold fascist violence in the future. Only a global movement can break his power.

The violent fascist riots in Belfast reveal the future that the trillionaire really wants. We need an international movement to constrain him.

Once more, the point of having military guards in full dress at the White House Nitro Circus sponsored by Black Rifle Coffee Company isn’t that this all presents a coherent vision of America. It’s a show of dominance, of publicly degrading our symbols and institutions to proclaim that they own them.

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, says Trump threw him under the bus.

“If he would do that to me, he would do that to anybody,” Cornyn says. “There’s never going to be good enough for him, other than 100 percent, you know, slavish adherence to whatever he wants.“

IF he's right, and he may be, that's an indictment of the Justice Department and a good reason a Dem administration needs to ignore any concerns about norms and partisan politics and absolutely clean house.

Refusal to fix the problem is what brought him back in the first place.
Toobin thinks future Justice Departments will honor Blanche's promise not to investigate Trump's taxes, but why? What authority does Blanche have to promise to suspend enforcement of the law for anyone?

but hey, at least if you do get whacked, the person who kills you knows they'll get a pardon and a payday from the "weaponization" fund.
Trump notes that demonstrating at his rallies is "dangerous" and adds sarcastically, "I like things that aren't dangerous. I don't like to see people get whacked. So don't do it."

This is the thing about anti-democracy: when votes don’t matter anymore, neither does popularity.
Trump is putting no effort into becoming less unpopular but a TON into putting elements of a coup in place. Some of them may remain invisible, but the ones we can see point to his general approach: violent intimidation + corrupt judges + executive branch and congressional coconspirators + bribes.
They're Really Going For It
