📣 Organizing WORKS.

Thousands of providers called the Governor and showed up in district offices and at the Capitol to share why the #CABudget would make our jobs harder and ultimately hurt working families. And the state heard us, introducing legislation that responds directly to our asks.

Today, AFSCME President Lee Saunders officially concluded his term. President Saunders's leadership guided AFSCME through monumental attacks.

We thank President Saunders for his years of service to all working people. We will carry on his work and, just like him, we will never back down!

In case you missed it: We stood alongside community members and advocates outside Rep. David Valadao’s Bakersfield office to call on Congress to reverse the largest health care cuts in U.S. history — cuts Valadao voted for in order to fund tax cuts for the ultra‑rich. (1/2) -

Today, we honor the anniversary of Medicaid and the millions of lives it has helped support.

As Medicaid faces harmful cuts, care workers, clients, and families are at risk of losing access to essential care, in-home services, and critical support. (1/2)

Profitable companies shouldn’t depend on public programs to cover their workers. AB-177 ensures they pay their share.

AB-177 (The Medi-Cal: Fair Share from Big Corporations Act) aims to hold large corporations accountable for the taxpayer costs of their employees relying on the state’s Medi-Cal.
