To celebrate, I will share something from my collection for every like this post gets.

I’ll start things off with a special fanzine (by request) - I Palantir #1 (August 1960). The very first Tolkien specific fanzine!

On September 15, 1977, what is arguably J.R.R. Tolkien's magnum opus was published (or at least the work of his heart). It turns 49 today.

The earliest version of this work was the subject of my doctoral thesis -- the first on Tolkien at Oxford University.

I am so utterly thrilled with this, a 50th birthday gift to myself: the Awakening of the Elves on the shores of Cuiviénen, from Tolkien's Silmarillion. I trusted Amy to do something wonderful, and she really has. (She was incredibly patient with my excessive Tolkien lore dump for background, too.)
Maybe the most figures I've painted on a single piece? Something a little fantastical for this bowl!

Astrophotographer Adam (AJ) Smadi caught this image a few hours ago from Washington state.

A thin crescent Moon, sunlight illuminating the rugged lunar surface.

And 2,400 times farther away—and on the other side of the Sun—mighty Jupiter, and its moons Io (left) and Ganymede (right).

Test copies of the calendar will shortly be on their way to our volunteers.

Meanwhile, we thought we would share our gorgeous covers!

Textless/Uncropped versions of these will be emailed as digital freebies to everyone who orders a calendar. Trust me, you want them.

I block the (fake) numbers every time. I figure in a few years I’ll have the entire 8xx toll free numbers blocked and can use the phone function again
