I’m glad to see this post reach 2.2K likes and 345 restacks. But I can’t help wondering how many people sharing it know that Jane Goodall was a vegan advocate — and that a significant part of her warnings about “destroying the Earth” concerned the environmental damage caused by consuming animals.

But there are also tens of millions of vegans. If more of us became active, we could significantly accelerate the transition to a more compassionate, plant-based world.

Nothing shames me more than knowing that I once paid for this suffering.
What a horrific, unspeakable crime we have normalized.
I’m disgusted that I ever contributed to it. And I’m determined never to look away again.

I would argue the normalization of animal use post necessity is *THE* greatest failure in human history, as the betrayal of other sentient beings is the root of all injustice we have so shortsightedly inflicted upon the entirety of the animal kingdom, incl our own species 👣
