It's banned book week - for some reason all of these fine books have been banned at one time or another. Find one of these or any other banned book and have a good read.

Congratulations to all the finalists for this year’s National Book Award in Fiction! It’s been such an honor (and such a difficult task!) to be a judge this year. I’m so grateful to have gotten to spend so much time with our finalists, our longlist, and all the other great books we read this year.

"If, with the literate, I am
Impelled to try an epigram,
I never seek to take the credit;
We all assume that Oscar said it."

funny enough that we know it was not Oscar, but her anyway.

John Steinbeck is not my favorite author. His books are not my favorite books. However, his writing is exquisitely 1930s-40s. They are about the economics of the times, & he writes about the human condition. He writes about people he knew, & the misery they lived in.
5 Steinbeck books are banned.
