One of my kids attended a summer break activity today and when I picked him up afterwards he was complaining that one of the adults had been misleading the kids.
Turns out that the adult had told the kids that Earth is round. A sphere.
My kid: No it isn’t, it’s a geoid.

Weekend musings: what I am most proud of is not the things I’ve built (or helped build) but learning that something I did or said had a meaningful impact on someone else’s way of thinking.
I definitely did not see that coming when I started working some 25 years ago.

Spent a bit of time to pretend to be a network technician over the past month and moved many devices to use wired ethernet—not only does this really improve latency for those devices, but it also has freed up a bunch of bandwidth for the wifi-connected devices. Worth it!
