The morning came not in haste but in quiet majesty, laying bars of gold beneath a heaven strewn with cloud-islands. The mountains stood as ancient prophets, their dark brows awaiting the sun’s first blessing, while the lake received the whole sky so perfectly that earth and heaven seemed joined in one shining peace. Here the dawn spoke without a voice, and every peak, every cloud, and every ripple became a hymn to the eternal beauty that no hand of man could fashion.

I arrived early yesterday morning, hoping for a clear view of Mount Rainier while Tipsoo Lake was still calm. I was not disappointed.

Seeing the alpenglow on Mount Rainier reflected in the lake was absolutely beautiful. I felt peaceful, excited, and incredibly lucky to witness it.
