What drives me nuts, separately from misunderstanding the "default move" results breakdown is even simpler.

When, as a Very Famous Game Designer once said, "but I don't want to play a game where I fail 70% of the time!" (As described in the thread)...
15 years ago when Apocalypse World was new and people were beginning to understand and work with it, it was seductive to look at "acting under fire" and see, not one basic move of several, but the template underlying all the game's moves.

Like @kierongillen.bsky.social 's classic gag:

From PBTA going from the cool new kid on the block to the old indie tradition in all these years one fact remains the same: nobody reads their damn rules properly.

Apart from anything else, I really don't think there are machine DESIGNED clothes, which is the comparison that would work here. And if anyone is making ai generated clothes, they suck.
What the fuck, Joyce. I don’t even read romance novels but this kind of thinking pisses me the fuck off. It further pushes that mentality that some books as “lesser” which is bullshit! All books count!

Aargh, once again, otherwise smart people in the ttrpg space saying it's impossible to do something with ttrpgs that there are hundreds of examples of ttrpgs doing just that!

Oddly enough, reminds me of a legendary exchange between my grandparents at the end of an argument:

Grandad "I'm going to the pub, what's for tea?"
Grandma: "Arseholes!"
Grandad: "Only bake one, I'm not coming home!"
Teenagers. They’re a treat.

I won a raffle at the local ironmongers for my choice of wood splitting tools. I wanted the really heavy axe with the thick wedged head, but the owner said, "sorry, that's already been sold to someone else."

Ah well, you can't win the maul.

Today brings further nuggets of GC delusions 'gold'. Peggie has been on paid leave since March 2025. Its about to run out and she is using this as some sort of terrible affliction of threat of poverty.
Having a skim read of the Sandie Peggie Terfapalooza lawfare tour, RCN union gig.
So she has already been caught out telling absolute porkers by her own admission.
No idea how this wil lshake out as GCs get the ear of everyone powerful, but crikey, she is a pathological liar.

A user has sent in a screenshot of their issue that they were getting very salty about that demonstrates that it was entirely avoidable error on their part.

I am constantly despairing when I remember that I, a man who barely scraped a 3rd class honours in drama and philosophy, have better grounding in philosophy than the man whose philosophical output underlies the richest people in the world's justifications for their actions.
i was aware how weird and dumb the "rationalists" and their satellites were thanks to @iwriteok.bsky.social and aware how weird and dumb the folks in the AI industry thanks to @edzitron.com. now i'm aware that the latter are almost entirely a subset of the former thanks to this podcast episode.
Here's this week's Better Offline: I'm joined by Cal Newport and
@adambecker.bsky.social to get the word out that the narrative about existential risk from AI is driven by a religious cult of effective altruists and rationalists.

With apologies for coming in on someone’s else’s thread….

What a GREAT idea! Callan. In the Village!

In fact a whole series but each episode is a different agent in The Village.James Bond in the Village. Harry Palmer in The Village. Ethan Hunt in The Village. Jackson Lamb in The Village.
The other episode included a lot of miniature soldiers, and I suspect my subconscious was confusing 6 with Callan.
