Another driver considerately let me know I was driving dangerously fast by riding my bumper and flashing their brights repeatedly. In respect for their care for my health and safety I slowed to 2 miles under the speed limit.

LMFAO -- Trump is holding an event at the White House right now but there's no audio because the press pool isn't there. The Newsmax host notes that this is an example of Trump's attacks on the press "backfiring just a little bit"

Given how popular singing robots (aka autotune) were I’m not that surprised by how quickly AI everything became. Disappointed, but not surprised.

We had a Trash Emergency in that a bag burst contaminating the container. So we had to clean out nastiness that included maggots or be faced with stench every time we used the bin. In unrelated news, I support starting salaries of 150k for sanitation workers who have to deal with this on the daily.

National security decision-making has a longer time horizon.

It would be stupid for Canada, Europe, South Korea, etc. to act now based on assuming the US will be a reliable in a decade.

We have shown that we are not.

Many Americans still don’t appreciate how profound of a change that is.

My 15-y-o just discovered the joy of yogurt mixed with jam and chia seeds. I made some for myself for tomorrow’s breakfast, then he discovered it in the fridge and walked up with the big puppy eyes. “Mom, what is this?” So he ate mine, and now I’m going to have to buy so much yogurt.

A not fun fact about disability that nondisabled people seem to be unable to perceive:

Disabled people are more likely to live in poverty and less likely to be able to afford preventative care or routine treatments for conditions that start small and snowball.

The "offense" committed by Haitians is that they were here legally, working jobs, completing degrees, and so forth, and then the administration abruptly revoked their status, rendering their presence illegal. They have literally been TRANSFORMED into illegal immigrants by the admin's own policies.

There was a time when a person could employ a service or engage in a transaction and would not be asked once—much less hounded—for a rating and feedback thereafter.

This I would like The Children to know.

It is so infuriating that we could mostly have a nice little life with work that’s enough to support it, healthcare that doesn’t go away if we change jobs, community resources that are well funded, and legally enforced civil rights. But Joe and Ted’s Rich Money Leaderboard War is more important.

Does anyone recall why we're in this current trade war with Canada? I believe it began because Trump stroked out and said something about "51st state." However, being American right now is just ingesting a firehose of humiliation so I really can't keep track of it all.

Amen. All this invisible labor AI has created for artists and writers is exhausting. I don't see why we have to change to avoid accusations when it's our voices that were stolen in the first place.
I refuse to change my writing style if for no other reason than it's too much work. But the main reason is why should *I* change? *They're* the ones who suck!
I've seen a lot of "advice to writers on how to counter accusations of AI."

Let me remind you: the onus is on the accuser to prove the accusation. Most accusers aren't detecting AI. They're detecting the source material used to train AI.

Our voices were stolen. Do not fall into this trap.

It genuinely pains me whenever there are widespread food recalls. These are plants and animals that were grown for food, that lived their lives to be food or make fruit or express milk etc so we could eat, and all that effort is wasted.

Getting blocked for pointing out that Sundown towns were real, that the movie The Purge even used Sundown town sirens, and that the premise of the Purge is dystopian horror for white people, but echoes reality for Black people.🤷🏿‍♂️

I'm OK with the block.
Except... The Purge was not an absurd premise? It was real, and really happened.

The real life version of the purge wasn't one night a year. It was every single night.

Again, a lot of dystopian horror is just "What if someone treated us the way we treated Black people?"
The Purge is fictional, and is just one day a year.

But sundown towns are real, and the free license to murder and commit other atrocities was available every night of the year. Every. Night.

In case it's not on the nose enough, The Purge trailer even uses a sundown town siren.🤡

A lot of things are about to get a lot more expensive
The USDA is projecting the wheat harvest to be cut by almost half in the US. The state of Kansas is the largest producer of wheat and it is projected to harvest 44% less than from 2025.
The American Farm Bureau sees a continued increase of Chapter 12 bankruptcies from 2025 as well.
