I hate that we've memory-holed 2020. My spring 2020 experience was 1) seeing ambulances pulling out dying seniors from a downtown Palo Alto center 2) the GOP's claim of "brutal lockdown" was remote school for only spring/fall 2020, with masked return in Jan-and that was far stricter than most places
Back in 2020, as a pediatric hematologist married to a physician, we signed up to volunteer in a field hospital for patients with COVID.
We wrote our wills and worried about getting our kids sick.
I posted about terrifying outcomes in kids and received death threats.
