Hey everyone, do you know which kiwi creative has an award winning book of creepy short stories that you could buy for your friends this Christmas?

*points at self*
To add to the below - what are these, tweets? Postings? I don't fucking know - I am about to start soon looking for Christmas stuff starting with @pepperraccoon.com @birdandbeach.bsky.social @narwhallibrarian.bsky.social and anyone else I have purchased from. I encourage you to do the same.
Frankly, this year I am just going to order all my Christmas presents to friends and family online from NZ creatives and craftspeople and get them to post to me. I'll pay the postage, I don't care. Because I can't be fucked wandering round the shops looking at stuff I don't want to buy.

While I was looking up the programme info for the reading I’m giving in Hamburg on 18 Oct, I came across my profile on the “Notable People Project”. Rest assured that before I let the kind words turn me into a skite that I have donned my hair-shirt and administered my lashings.

I spent much of today trying to sleep off an impending migraine, but in the midst of the pain I wrote a couple of hundred words of a new project that I wasn’t planning on working on until a couple of years down the track but I might need to bump it up because the Voice is clear and strong.

Pro tip to any other political parties - you too can grow a spine at any point in time and choose to do something about the very real issues facing our country. It can be actually quite popular too.

You can't blame Ed Sheeran for caving in to American stadium owners I suppose. I mean, take these guys in the 60s, they refused to play to racially-segregated audiences in stadiums in the southern states of the USA and who remembers them now?

I’m up at dawn for a meeting and reminiscing about doing this EVERY day when I was writing my first novel (I lived near the zoo and would write until the gibbons and lions woke and yelled) Part of me wants that hunger — to get up and put hours into my novel before getting ready for my day job — back

While I was at the book launch tonight, one of the booksellers told me that Unity Books (and The Women’s Bookshop) have ordered “He Heru” so there will be copies in NZ probably by the time I get back from launching it in Berlin. I’m a bit chuffed about that.

I got home from à book launch and there was a dog loose on the path to my house and it started to square off at me so I walked around the block to get into my house from the back gate. It could be the neighbour’s dog — that dog is SUPER aggressive behind the fence when the owner is around.
