Em is right - most *months* are basically marketing for the core game which also do function to help newer people start in crowdfunding. but that community thing is gonna fall apart quickly when one month fails to get off the ground
I suggest all up-and-coming artists to harbor critical skepticism every time a for-profit organization uses the word "community." Even well-meaning individuals within a corporation cannot escape the economic incentives that structure demands. The end point invariably leads to the hijacking…(1/2)

That's an unusual amount of literary credibility to rack up for a video game, let alone a roguelike. Jason Grinblat, who co-created Qud with Brian Bucklew starting in 2007, has a theory for why. It's no accident that Grinblat names Gene Wolfe's The Book of the New Sun as a touchstone. Both master the art of giving out just the right amount of information for the reader.

Our stand at UKGE was by an artist who has been an artist for years but whose style has some unfortunate resemblances to genAI hallmarks and I had to tell multiple people who turned their noses up that this person had been an artist longer than them
bankrupt 100% of the indie devs using "genai" whatever that is, you'll do 0 good, have no impact at all om the ai business and done a lot of harm to people trying to navigate a fucked up situation same as you. good job dude.
