Kohler's 1926 Electric Sink — advertised as an "Electric Sink for the Electric Twenties!" built a dishwasher into the form of a divine green sink and promised freedom from the “thrice–daily drudgery” of washing dishes by hand.

The Medicare Part B Premium is $202.90. $100 it's literally not even half the cost of it.
Trump: My Administration will, immediately, begin sending 'Checks' of nearly $100 to over 20 MILLION wonderful Seniors to help pay for their Medicare Part B premium ... This money will come from the Medicare Improvement Fund, a pointless 'Slush Fund' that has only been used by Dumocrats ... "

Just bumping into this again with people _reflexively_ using the word "grape" or a 🍇 emoji and not even realizing they're doing it. It's all part of the same system, where the men running these companies make platforms that don't even let people accurately describe the crimes that they enable.
It’s a very minor point amongst the far greater injustices of the situation, but the Cornell case has also just reminded me how much all of society seems to have just accepted the fact that big tech won’t allow people to use the word “rape”. (Or at least people *believe* so — nobody knows!)

Unbelievable. Except totally believable.

We utterly fail at elite accountability in 🇺🇸, & elite universities have been at the forefront of that since Iran-Contra, repeatedly offering sinecures to the authoritarians. It's why all the things keep happening time & again:

Along these same lines, I loved Office Space but I was pretty skeptical that Ron Livingston's character was happy doing all that shoveling at the end of the movie. That's hard work, not some peaceful, zen-like existence.

Everyone should read Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs to understand what it meant to constantly negotiate one’s sexual autonomy in a system of enslavement. Jacobs emphasizes that even “consensual” relationships were negotiated in constant fear of sexual violence.

elon musk on: stealth aircraft

(for the record: everyone involved with low-observable aircraft is acutely aware that they are not "invisible," they just have an rcs so small they can't be effectively detected until they are close enough to have already launched weapons and that is super useful.)
