25 years ago today, the U.S. launched its war in Afghanistan.

Weeks earlier, Barbara Lee was the only member of Congress to vote against the 2001 Authorization of Military Force, warning it would be a blank check for forever wars.

History has proven her lonely and courageous vote right.

“The rate of ectopic pregnancy deaths in states with abortion bans is nearly double that in states where abortion is legal.”

That stat should shame every anti abortionist in the world.
"The US has grown used to the swift and dramatic erosion of women’s health and status that has followed Dobbs," writes @moiradonegan.bsky.social, "to the horror stories and upward ticking body counts, grown into ease, and even a kind of compliant boredom, with women’s death and indignity."
Why has abortion faded from America’s national conversation? | Moira Donegan
The US has already grown used to the horror caused by abortion bans. And Republicans have sought to quash the stories

There are about 60 lesbian bars left in America and rather than a piece about why that is , we have lol cow bullshit

I need people to start understanding that especially as marginalized groups when someone is jazzing up the dram it’s not “tea” it’s a mechanism of exposing your community to abuse
Hey so uhhhhh that Boston Globe story about the lesbian bar relaxing its covid rules is an *absolute fucking hit piece* targeting the disabled, chronically ill, and covid-conscious and it would be great if folks sharing and joking about it could recognize that framing.

LOOK AT THIS FUCKING SHIT.

The easiest way to tell that trans women are women is that the right is so desperate to control what they do with their bodies.

WE HAVE EVERYTHING IN COMMON.

In Massachusetts, we have a responsibility to protect the vulnerable and stand up for those who need it. We don’t throw trans kids under the bus for political points. We protect them—and all of our neighbors—because trans rights are human rights.

Chinook salmon have recolonised 88% of their historic range on the Klamath River, with more than 13,000 fish passing the old Iron Gate Dam site in 2025, up from 7,700 the year before. Two years after the dams’ removal, it’s going better than anyone predicted. buff.ly/pToC9gB

The whole trans girls in sports discussion is absolutely being used to propagandize people into being transphobic bellends.

In K-12, the number of trans girls in sports is five.
In college the number is fewer than ten, according to the NCAA President.

You're being manipulated. Please stop.
What amuses me is that Gavin Newsome could have probably ridden this shit all the way to the White House if he’d kept his yap close about trans girls in sports. Now no matter what he does in response to this Trump manufactured crisis, all I’ll ever think is “you raised a kid who likes Charlie Kirk.”

There are already articles circulating trying to rewrite history and say America was great after 9/11 and united and thoughtful and just a reminder that that period was marked by intense and insanely racist hatred, paranoia, and a frothing desire for unhinged violence and oppression.

Listen, they know there is no jobs, they love it when there are no jobs, it makes people desperate to keep the job they have. Desperate people can be exploited, desperate people wont complain about conditions, or ask for a pay increase.

•Gets paid, and
•Gets free world-class healthcare

all three as he needs it most.😐
